Fayaz Alam

Fayaz Alam, a well-known poet, essayist and pioneering Bangladeshi post-colonialist theorist, has been writing on the multifaceted manifestation of power in the modern state, oppression and exploitation of individuals by state and similar institutions and way of survival by non-stop fighting against these. He has been working on the issue of colonial oppression and its long-term effects on the psychology and life of the Bangladeshi people. His works focused on the deep rooted colonial impact on our language, culture and politics, and the process of de-colonization. Writing less, telling more, is Fayaz Alam's style. As always, Fayaz Alam has given us some tools of de-colonization and it is we who must use them carefully.
