Dark skinned Black Haitian Woman Fighting Colorism Alone in This World

Socio-Psychology
Travel
In an average black family, not everyone is created equal. We are measured by the degree of our whiteness and cast as such. Those with traits that are more "African", black, are taught to deny our traits and when we refuse. And even more severely punished when we speak these truths. We are forced into realities of double speech and mocked for accepting or denying the oppression.

In a time when those around us claim “we are all in the same boat”, a time when to depict a problem in our society earns us a label negative and domineering, a time when we are made to pay for our spoken word, a time when psychologists determine what is freedom of thought, we are forced to believe that we are free. Be I a zombified Haitian or an American living in hard times, I call for freedom.
