Bjørn Bergum: Since 2014 we have been hard at work - creating what will soon become the northern most commercial vineyard in the world - and we have done it with our own two hands.
My dream has for a long time been to create a wine from locally grown grapes in the Sognefjord - 61.1 degrees north. In 2014 my partner, Halldis, told me i should just go ahead and do it - and she would help me make it happen.
When we found the most suitable land for our vineyard, we immediately started working and now we have won several gold medals in blind wine tasting competitions with acclaimed wine critics on the panel.
Our white wine Lydia (Solaris) has won several times and our very special Solarissa (Solaris) has gotten the highest score so far. Our red wine has fared just as well too, giving us a gold medal for our wine based on Leon Milot.
