Channel Description

The Bible's origins are explored from a secular (non-religious) and anthropological viewpoint, based on the findings of archaeology and modern scholarly textual criticism. The Old Testament's concepts are traced back to a Hebraic recasting of Canaanite and Mesopotamian myths, done in such a way as to refute these myths. The New Testament's origins are investigated as a recasting of Old Testament motifs and concepts from a point of view of a Hellenized Judaism (Christianity having assimilated certain Hellenistic Greek points of view). Archaeological excavations revealed some sites mentioned by Moses circa 1445 BC didn't exist before 725 BC.
