One thing that gets overlooked in most home designs and renovations is functional, usable storage space that makes sense to the home owner.
Builders install the cheapest closets, cupboards and vanities. There is a huge aftermarket for companies to rip out what the builder put in and replace it with something that is functional, but it comes with a very large price.
Amazing Home Hacks looks at ways to add storage space, organization, order and function throughout the home, garage, shed, workshop and backyard.
The lens I use is what can be added to what is already there. Can I build on the bones the builder left and save a lot of money? Since I am not craftsman, the other imperative is that they are relatively easy to accomplish with basic tools and a few trips to a home center or on line provider.
