Welcome to Malat world!! I was born in the war-torn country of South Sudan; I lost the use of my lower limbs due to polio at the age of three. 10 years in Dimma Refugee Camp (Ethiopia) with my family before migrating to the United States in 2006, where I was outfitted with my first wheelchair and later exposed to adaptive sports. Through wheelchair basketball, I found confidence and strength that has empowered me to become a premier player of the game. The transformative powers of sport led me to believe that if I could return to my birth home country, SOUTH SUDAN; I could share all that I've learned to help other individuals with physical challenges to redefine how they see themselves and shift the perspective of community members on the value of people with Physical challenges.
