Ash Tewari, MD

Ash Tewari, MD, is Chairman of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. A board-certified urologist and principal investigator, he is President of the Society for Urologic Robotic Surgeons (SURS) and Chair of the Prostate Program Committee. Dr. Tewari is a world-leading surgeon who has performed over 9,000 robotic procedures using the da Vinci Surgical System. Academically, he is recognized globally for his expertise in urologic oncology, with over 250 peer-reviewed papers. He has been named to America’s Top Doctors, New York Magazine’s Best Doctors, and Who’s Who in the World. In 2012, he received the American Urological Association Gold Cystoscope Award for outstanding contributions to urologic oncology, especially prostate cancer treatment and advancing robotic prostatectomy techniques. Dr. Tewari also received the inaugural Golden Robot Surgical Award for Excellence in Surgical Innovations for Cancer Patients.
