I provide professional explanations of bike repairs. I want to explain not only how something is done but also why something is done. Requests are always welcome.

I have worked in service and sales of bikes for over 5 years and I believe many people can preform some of their own basic bike repairs to make cycling less daunting.

Safety is a number one concern. Always double check work and if you ever get in above your head or something doesn't seem right please take the bike to a local bike shop. At the bike shop you will find people like me who love cycling and want to help - we are not the used car salesmen people think we are.

Some repairs - like bearings - are difficult to master requiring lots of "feel" and special tools. Reasons like that are why I think it's wise to have a full tune up (about $60-$100) at least every other year - more for people who are avid riders.
