Singer-Songwriter Xavier Calvera was born in Cuba and emigrated to the United States at the age of 14. Music followed him everywhere. In Santiago de Cuba, one heard intriguing rhythms in the air, played by musicians on sidewalks. Street vendors sang of their wares. In the United States, radios blared British and American rock. Music from The Beatles, Jackson Browne and Sting resonated in his soul. Xavier began writing songs in his mid teens and now has a substantial catalog with compositions in many genres including rock, pop, folk, Spanish pop, jazz, country and songs for musical theatre.
