I'm Brian Kehlenbach, and I've been teaching music theory for over 40 years at places like the University of Connecticut, USC, and for the last 30 years at Santa Ana College in California. I've accumulated lots of approaches and helpful tricks for learning music efficiently and thoroughly, and my goal in the videos on this channel is to share as much as I can in a way that actually leads you to mastery of the subject. I've been an active composer, educator, classical recitalist, and jazz pianist. Performances of my compositions have taken place on the Aries Composers Festival, the LA Philharmonic Green Umbrella series, the Charleston Piccolo Spoleto Festival, at Carnegie Hall, and in several venues across the country. I'm currently a faculty member at Santa Ana College in Orange County, California where I've also served as Music Department Chair and Interim Dean of Fine and Performing Arts.
