The rise of digital technology and the easy access to the internet has suddenly opened up this space of possibility that is free and uncensored. It is easily accessible and it does not cost much to upload content into the public domain. This is happening at a time when Sikkim is at the crossroads politically, socially, economically and existentially. Democracy feels very young and an idea we are still getting familiar with here. Sinkauli seeks to explore the contours and boundaries of a new democratic culture through the use of digital technology and the internet.
