Emma Donovan Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
Emma Donovan is one of Australia’s most celebrated voices. A proud Gumbaynggirr and Yamatji artist, she weaves soul, gospel, country and the storytelling traditions of her culture. First emerging with Stiff Gins and later fronting The Putbacks (Dawn, Crossover, Under These Streets), Emma was inducted into the NIMAs Hall of Fame in 2021 with her family band The Donovans. Her new single Take Me To The River ushers in a luminous new solo soul era, reimagining Al Green’s classic through the lens of family, community and connection to Country. She has graced stages including WOMADelaide, Bluesfest and the Sydney Opera House, and will premiere her new multidisciplinary show Take Me To The River at Darwin Festival before heading to Sydney Festival in 2026.
