Vini Melzak

Find old and new artwork, film and music from solo projects, bands and collaborations. Loosely chronological over four decades the collection is always expanding. Multi-instrumentalist/producer Vincent Melzak began creating his own music in Melbourne’s in the mid 80's, getting limited airplay in his band ANTIPOISON. He formed WELL with Warren Ellis and drummer Dave Leslie, and was session player for SNOG. Vini's White Zone Studio and 'speakeasy' in Prahran presented bands like SCOURGE in the late 80's and early 90's. The short-lived YEAR ZERO ('94-5) came after stints in LEAD FOOT, solo blues gigs, busking locally and internationally, and as bass guitarist in several acts including JAMES BUTT and HOWLIN WIND. He was engineer turned guitarist for KATE GREALY and toured with UNDERSTOREY and the BREAKNECKS. Vini was keyboard dubmaster in SPYNDRIFT, a tutor of strings/percussion and now works from the Divine Wind Studio on Gadubanud Country. His new band is MaNNaGuM with Richard Collopy.
