KORYPHEUS is a metal/prog metal band hailing from Kyiv, Ukraine, formed in 2016. It is the 2020 Best Ukrainian Metal Act Nominee. The current lineup features Andy Gushin on lead vocals, Jullian Torse on extreme vocals, Dmitriy Kim on drums (ex-Jinjer), Gennadi Sarukhanyan on lead guitar and Ruslan Drozd on bass.
December 2018 saw Korypheus unleash their debut album «Blessed», a powerful progressive-rock composition riddled with riffs and piercing melodies, which in a short time have grabbed the ears and attention of music fans worldwide.
Their sophomore album «Over the Rainbow» was released in November 2020 via French metal label M&O Music. Korypheus combines multiple heavy metal subgenres with a keen ear for melody and epic song structures.
Korypheus's playing style incorporates elements of alternative metal, progressive metal, post-rock. The band has mentioned many of their influences for their music, including Gojira, Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Opeth, Devin Townsend etc.
