Derilexus began as a one-man instrumental progressive metal project in 2016, which saw the release of the Shifting Sands EP. This five-track debut concept piece chronicled the perils of a man who awakes in the desert and must free himself from the elements and ultimately, his own mind.
In 2019, Derilexus returned with the single "Wandering Eye." Marking a distinct stylistic departure from the Shifting Sands EP, "Wandering Eye" is a groove built entirely from layered loops and blends the driving beats of EDM with the aggressive riffery of hard rock.
Starting in 2023 and building on the format introduced with "Wandering Eye", Derilexus began the writing and recording process for a new album, titled "Stealing Sentience."
