Michael L. Barnes known as MikeLyrik (pronounced Mike Lyric, written as 1 word) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and actor (Oct 30th, Scorpio). Born in Mt. Vernon, NY to Jamaican parents, he fell in love with the entertainment world at an early age. His studies throughout high school years and college include voice and theater. Upon winning several local talent competitions, he took up music as a career shortly after the passing of his father to cancer. His mantra "Live Your Dreams" became a staple in his journey at that time. Mikelyrik honed his songwriting and performance skills for several years with a few street demo releases. He began touring internationally with noted bands shortly after releasing his EP "Event Exclusive" in 2006. His fan base steadily grew through social media and special events thus creating a path for him to become the opening act to several major artists’ concerts throughout the USA.
