From a street dog to our beloved family member. Here is Mona's story:
She caught our eye from the start. Friendly and absolutely adorable, but shaggy, dirty and accompanied by two puppies, she met us right at the beginning of our time as housesitters in the village of Karanovac (Bosnia-Herzegovina). That was December '22 and in mid-January we decided that we wanted to adopt Mona after both puppies went missing one after the other.
Our new dog then was chipped and given all the vaccinations, dewormed and got the flea treatment. 21 days later she received her passport. This enabled us to enter the EU with her in April '23.
Unfortunately, she had briefly escaped during the time of her heat. Enough to get her pregnant. And here we're with four of her puppies.
