The Fried Jumbo Podcast Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
The Fried Jumbo podcast is about the lessons that we all learned while growing up. It is hosted by two childhood friends that grew up together in the late 1970s and 1980s. Our childhood nicknames are Chickenhawk and Dubs. We have known each other since we were 8 years old. We are going to share stories about growing up during our time period. That being said, we also plan on having guests on the show that grew up during different times period. We will also have guests on that were raised in different countries, and came from different religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Fried Jumbo is a food that was eaten by many of us Pittsburghers during the 1970s and 1980s. It serves a symbol for growing up in Pittsburgh during a time when the steel mills and factories were closing and households struggled to put meat on the table. Inexpensive lunch meats like bologna (nicknamed Jumbo in Pittsburgh) and chipped ham became staples of our diets. Get ready for some great stories!
