With a background in construction, a Masters degree in Project Management, several other credentials, and having built more than $500M in construction projects across the US I though I was well suited to run a home service franchise with a semi-absentee model. Even though we were the top performing branch in revenue, not only was I not able to run the company in a semi-absentee model, but we couldn't keep our doors open after just over two years.
