FiggyEd (Figgy Ed)

Eddie here: moved from Lebanon to Brooklyn when I was 3. At 34, we moved to Maine for 5 yrs and started a family. Then Manhattan again for a year then Dallas since. I am experimenting and learning about growing figs indoors. A lot is needed to get it right, but it can be done easily. I have an indoor Angelito tree that has never been outdoors since March 2024. It has given me 300 yummy figs, but there is still a ton to learn when it comes to being 100% indoors.

I now have over 30 indoor trees in 3 locations open right in my house. I have proven you can get complex and sweet figs indoors, and now I am trying to see how it can be done at lower costs. I've had over 30 brix using 150w for 12hrs for about 20 DLI paying ~$0.25 in electric/day. But I need to learn so much more. I want to experiment with 1) soil 2) amendments 3) daily light. My goal is to help people with limited outdoors space see how easy it is to grow figs indoors. Spreading the love of figs gives me real joy! Fig on!!
