The Brooklyn Junction Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
We needed to tell this story while we still can. The Junction is a podcast about our experience growing up in Brooklyn in the 1970's and 1980's. It is a fascinating look at a time and place that doesn't exist anymore where children grew up like weeds in a dystopian hellscape where graffiti scared buildings, garish retail stores and combative dive bars littered the main streets. But of course, there were tasty Jewish delis, welcoming Irish Bars and the best Pizza and Bagels in the world. A parade of cops, predator priests and violent gangs roamed the town but there was always the nourishing comfort of family and friends. Equally important there was fun, funny people & some great tales we hope to tell with love, empathy and hopefully accuracy (but we won’t let the truth ruin a good story). In these episodes we celebrate the many characters who helped build our lives and call out those who were…well, not so evolved. We needed to tell this story while we still can.
