Sofia Nova is a singer-songwriter. Sofia Nova's love for music began in her childhood home Orlando, Florida - growing up in a household where her parents were music lovers turning her onto records from the 60's and 70's. She started performing in the theater, going on to win the 2017 Jimmy Awards. She studied music and theater at the University of Michigan. SOFÍA has since expanded to making her own music, expressing more psychedelic-soul/ funk rock vibe. Her sonic is reflective of a deep admiration for the sounds of the past, while embodying a futuristic sensibility. Her performance persona exudes a theatrical quality drawing from David Bowie, Rick James, and Donna Summer. Sofia Nova makes music for people to feel liberated and inspired.

Sofia Nova is also a film actress and can recently be seen in Ryan Murphy's The Prom on Netflix.
