Yekbun Sincar is a Kurdish musician whose unique style is shaped by the rich musical heritage of her homeland. Blending deep emotional expression with improvisation, her music creates a powerful and intimate connection with audiences. Beyond her artistic career, she is deeply committed to preserving and promoting Kurdish culture and identity, giving voice to the history, sorrows, and joys of the Kurdish people through her songs.
Active in the professional music scene since 1991, she performs traditional Kurdish repertoire on the lute and bağlama. As a soloist, she has collaborated with musicians and orchestras across Europe, Russia, South Korea, North Africa, and the Middle East, and has composed music for television and film.
Born in Istanbul, Yekbun Sincar began her musical journey at the age of ten. She is self-taught on both the bağlama and the lute, studied music education at Marmara University, and is currently based in Bremen, Germany.
