Channel Description

Daryl Anderson, professionally known as DJ Daryl, is an acclaimed music producer, songwriter, engineer, and DJ from Oakland, California. As one of the founding members of the legendary group 415, he helped shape the Bay Area’s early rap sound with street classics such as Snitches & Bes, Groupie A* B***, and Sideshow. The group’s influence extended far beyond Oakland—415’s style inspired Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Nate Dogg to form their own group, 213.

DJ Daryl produced Tupac Shakur’s unreleased album Troublesome 21 prior to the rapper’s tragic passing. Although the project was delayed due to controversy surrounding Ice-T’s “Cop Killer,” Interscope later released its songs across multiple albums. One of Daryl’s most celebrated productions, “Keep Ya Head Up,” appeared on Tupac’s second studio album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.
The single reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart, #7 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, #12 on the Hot 100, and ultimately achieved platinum status.
