Channel Description
Osu! I’m Bill Stewart, a Kyokushin practitioner since 1980, beginning under Shihan Jim “Swanny” Swanson (RIP) in Orlando, Florida during the era of the original IKO founded by Sosai Mas Oyama. I joined USA-IFK Kyokushin in 1996 under Shihan Mike Monaco and Hanshi Steve Arneil.
After closing my Florida dojo in 2001, I served in the U.S. Navy and later worked as a security contractor in Afghanistan. Wherever I’ve lived—Texas, the Philippines, Hawaii, and Guam—I’ve remained active in Kyokushin through training, officiating, and supporting local dojos and events.
On October 1, 2020, I created the Kyokushinkai Karate Facebook group (94k+ members as of November 2025). I currently teach privately through Texas Kyokushin Karate.
