Budapest Bar (Hungary) is an intoxicating music cocktail of Gypsy virtuosity infused with rock'n'roll energy. The wildly popular five-piece Gypsy band teams up with a rotating roster of singers from the rock, underground, electronic and jazz scene, swinging between the sultry and rollicking. They invoke the spirit of Europe's golden age of cafés and cabaret, the 1920s-1950s.Budapest Bár, born out of a renewed Gypsy scene and a vibrant rock underground, has brought the charm and wit, the skill and panache of this era back. Replacing the music's kitsch with great musicality, bandleader Robert Farkas and Budapest Bár have found just the right balance of vintage vibe and contemporary feel.
