“Blessed cellist”. Life and music. Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
Hi, my name is Liza Vielcheva.
I'm a Ukrainian cellist and started playing cello at the age of 8 and piano at 9. I graduated with a Master's degree in Cello Performance from the University of Arts (Conservatory) and master’s degree as a music lecturer from Kharkiv State Academy of Culture.
During that time, I worked as a principal cellist for an operetta symphony orchestra, won the Grand Prix at the Ukrainian Music Competition back in 2010.
After my graduation I worked in my home town Symphony Orchestra, as a section cellist for 4 years.
After moving to the US in 2014,I focused on teaching, performing, and writing music. I currently teach cello at Tabor College and Emporia State University, maintaining a private studio “Blessed cellist” (offering lessons for violin and piano beginners, and cello lessons of all levels, ONLINE and in person). I love to play with local orchestras like Kansas City Symphony and Wichita, at worship band at my church, and chamber music with my colleagues.
