Welcome to Blackish University! Griots of a modern world.
Now more than ever, we lack access to the older generations that have credible information about the world around us.
Our school system releases specific information and corporations, which own our media and are very selective with the information shared with the people.
Sometimes, you need assistance and guidance a normal university just can’t provide.
What exactly is a griot (gree-oh)? Since the 13th century, the people of West Africa have relied on griots to help spread knowledge from generation to generation. They were storytellers and musicians, but most importantly, they were oral historians of their communities.
Let's be real. Our information is manipulated and censored. Schools and Universities will teach us the same garbage about Christopher Columbus while leaving out information about Africa, weird stories about Antarctica, Black Wall Street, Native Americans, Civil Rights, Racism in America...etc.
