Matt Hughes Music

Matt Hughes is a Canadian musician and songwriter delivering powerful, high energy, hard melodic rock music. Born into a musical family, Matt began playing drums at age 11 and then picked up the guitar at age 14. Since then Matt has been a lifelong professional, performing musician and has extensive musical experience which he incorporates into his songwriting, resulting in a diverse spectrum of music.

Matt has just released his first full length self-produced album entitled Revolution, which he recorded during the pandemic at Revolution Recording Studios in Toronto, Ontario Canada with veteran, Juno award winning Canadian recording engineer and producer L. Stu Young. This album also features special guest musicians including drummer Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr. Big, Black Swan), bassist Sean McNabb (Dokken, Lynch Mob, Quiet Riot), guitarist Toshi Yanagi (guitarist for Jimmy Kimmel Live Band) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Joe Bonamassa, KISS, Alice Cooper, Dream Theatre)
