I started playing guitar in 2005 at age 15 thanks to Green Day and Billie Joe Armstrong. I play these songs all the time and figured it would be a fun project to film them.
I prerecord everything into a Scarlet 2i2 Gen 3 interface and Reaper recording software, then play it again in front of the camera and sync it all together in Premiere Pro. Prerecording allows me to record multiple instruments and all the guitar parts rather than just parts of a song. It's also useful if there's clean and distorted parts that I can't switch between while playing. I do make sure I practice to ensure I can in fact play the songs in one take.
For guitars I use mostly Epiphones and a couple Fenders. Hope you enjoy and consider subscribing as I plan to cover every song officially and unofficially released by Green Day, The Network, Foxboro Hottubs, My Chemical Romance and more!
