Maktoob is a media initiative based Delhi, in India. It was founded in the southern state Kerala, in March, 2014, with an aim of ensuring an equal and unbiased space for discussion, dialogue and dissemination of information and news. Maktoob publishes news and features in English.
In the recent decades, media ownership had concentrated in the hands of few corporations and conglomerates. This has lead to a narrowing of range of voices and opinions being expressed. And here, Maktoob is trying to make a change. Through news, views and analyses of ground reports, Maktoob aims to play the part of a small media that aids in a big revolution of justice, liberty and equality.
Maktoob showcases continuous efforts to empower individual citizen and promote democratic ideals through the spread of accurate and humanized editorial content. The Caste, Class conflicts of diverse Indian society is given utmost editorial importance and we stand against the fascist ideologies.
