Channel Description

The Missionary Oblates are a Roman Catholic religious community of priests and brothers. Founded in France by St. Eugene De Mazenod in 1816, there are currently some 4,000 Oblate priests and brothers serving in more than 60 countries around the world. The Missionary Oblates choose to live and work among the poorest people in the world, in countries like Sri Lanka, Zambia, Mexico, the Philippines, Haiti, India and Brazil. In the United States they work in the inner cities, at retreat centers, rural parishes, Native American reservations and at shrines, including the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.
