Judge Frank Caprio

Frank Caprio was born on November 24, 1936, in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island—the son of Italian immigrants. His father, Antonio Caprio, was a fruit peddler and milkman. Growing up in a modest, hard-working household, Caprio helped through delivering milk, shining shoes, and other small jobs—an upbringing which deeply shaped his empathy for others.

He graduated from Central High School in 1953
.He then earned a B.A. from Providence College (1958) and worked as a high school teacher while attending Suffolk University School of Law at night, passing the bar in 1965

Caprio was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late 2023. He publicly shared his journey, connecting with supporters until his peaceful passing on August 20, 2025, at age 88.
