Mike Mason has 25+ years of experience as an investigative journalist. He's a member of IRE's newly formed Press Freedom Committee, which focuses on protecting the rights of investigative journalists worldwide.

Mike's awards include Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Baton, Regional & National Edward R. Murrows, IRE Certificate, Emmys and top recognition by SPJ, AP and others.

His reporting has changed laws and impacted numerous legal decisions.

In Asheville, North Carolina, Mike produced a documentary exposing how EPA officials knowingly subjected residents to highly toxic public drinking water for decades. The case went before the U.S. Supreme Court and his reports helped spark the passage of new victims' rights laws. Activist Erin Brockovich also came to D.C. to lobby on behalf of the victims.

Mike enjoys giving a voice to the voiceless, holding the powerful accountable and exposing corruption. He has lived in 10 states and holds degrees in Journalism and Fine Arts.
