Welcome to McLarenArchive, where you can watch rare New Zealand motor racing films from the 1940s to 1980s, made by the late Alan McLaren.
Involved in motorsport - and especially the Hamilton Motor Cycle Club - throughout his life, Alan was also the father of motocross riders Ross and Doug (plus older son Graham), and Uncle of Bruce McLaren.
Alan sent these films (Standard 8mm, where he attached the audio himself, and later Super 8mm) to Ross, in the UK, in the 1980s.
After being converted to digital, they can now be seen for the first time in almost 40 years as a tribute to Alan and all the competitors involved.
Names of the people, places and machines we could spot are included in the description for each video. Please let us know any further details and we will add to the description.
