Channel Description
Singer-songwriter Mattias Lies writes music based on his own story and the transformative journey he has made. Mattias have been writing music to some beautiful poems of Edith Södergran (1892-1923). She was a Swedish-speaking Finnish poet who, a modernist inspired by French Symbolism, German Expressionism and Russian Futurism.
During 2023 these songs have been recorded and now the project is finished. The new album is heavily inspired by the Scandinavian ballad tradition. The first single "Höstens bleka sjö" will be released December 8th and the album "Rösten från det Karelska näset" is slated for release April 2024.
With an open heart and a lot of sisu* he has released five albums and toured in both Sweden and the USA where he shared his experiences through his music. The previous album “Turning Points” (2021), with Daniel Ögren as producer, as the title suggests, describes various turning points that have taken place in Lies’ eventful life.
