FIDO EXPEDITIONS

We are Allan, Sakshi and Fido. We spend 3-4 months of the year traveling in our trusty camper Fido. Fido is a 2000 Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4x4 camper which I built myself. Specifications: 10000 lb weight wet (2000 pounds under the GVW), 3.9 liter 4 cylinder turbodiesel engine yields 13.1 mpg. Maximum cruising speed 70 mph on the flat. 4x4 system with low range gear box. 37" tires. The truck is 7 feet wide and 18.5 feet long. This is the short wheelbase model (114 inches.) which gives it superior off road capability and an outstanding turning radius. The camper box is a 1978 hilo camp trailer. 12 feet long and 7 feet wide with a raising roof. It contains two beds, a three burner propane stove, propane heat, and an engel refrigerator. There are so many things to consider when deciding on what camper to get, and having travelled 30k miles over the course of 5 years we have to say that we love FIDO! I can't think of another vehicle I would rather have.
