Sons of Yusuf Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
Sons of Yusuf are blood brothers and architects of the Arabian Gulf hip-hop sound, Ya'koob and Humble Abdul. Blending Khaleeji roots with soulful, conscious rap. Hailing from Kuwait, and residing between their homeland and California, their music is a bridge between cultures, a celebration of identity, and a bold redefinition of what global music can be.
Their debut album, Shaykh the World, featuring Talib Kweli, Jay Electronica, Terrace Martin, Cyhi, & more, established their international presence. Their second album, Granada, made history as the first hip-hop project from the Middle East considered for Best Global Album, Best Spoken Word Poetry Album, and Best Rap Album at the 2026 Grammy® Awards. Their latest release, Kuwait Beat Tape Vol. 1, is a fully instrumental project that weaves Kuwaiti cultural sounds and storytelling into a modern sonic journey.
More than musicians, they are cultural ambassadors building a global movement rooted in resilience, authenticity, and purpose.
