ZeroAvia Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
ZeroAvia is producing the world’s first practical zero-emission aviation powertrain, initially targeting 20-seat airplanes to start replacing dirty jet fuel. ZeroAvia’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable aviation by giving airlines and airframe manufacturers a zero-emission option that is scalable to serve some of the most common airline trips. Our solution is a hydrogen-electric powertrain technology and a focus on establishing airports as green hydrogen hubs with a variety of partners. We are targeting 500-mile short-haul trips which constitute nearly half of global departures. We expect to do this at half of today’s costs for a conventional jet engine. Founded by serial entrepreneur and pilot Val Miftakhov in 2017, ZeroAvia completed the world's first hydrogen-electric powered flight in 2019. Building on a passion for flying and experience in the electric vehicle market, Miftakhov envisions a new golden age of green aviation powered by renewable energy.
