GrowCookPreserve Channel Description Snapshot
Channel Description
Hi! I’m Kelly Schradin; biology professor and gardener based in rural Southwest Ohio, documenting a practical, year-round approach to growing food, cooking from scratch, and building long-term food security.
My work blends academic training with real-world experience: from native plant conservation and prairie restoration to greenhouse growing, fermentation, beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, and soil-focused gardening. I believe in understanding why things work and in giving people the knowledge to grow, cook, and preserve food with confidence.
I want to teach self-reliance through science, seasonal living through practice, and sustainability through the small, steady actions of daily homestead life. If you’re here to learn how to grow food, cook from scratch, preserve your harvest, or rebuild your relationship with the land, you’re in the right place.
