Welcome aboard our sailboat Astrid the Wombat!
We are Gav and Shezz an Aussie couple looking for adventure on the ocean in our sailboat a Beneteau Oceanis 430.
We bought this sailboat in October 2023 with no sailing experience and sailed it over 640 nautical miles from Townsville to Brisbane Australia to bring her home. We are avid scuba divers and love the ocean. Our plan is to liveaboard the boat in 2025 and set it up as our floating home while we learn to sail and explore the waters off the East coast of Australia. Then, when we are ready, we will take off to sail and dive around the world.
Join us as we learn to sail, travel, downsize and become liveaboard sailors and explore both above and below the water.
