The Sarasota Sharks swim team in Sarasota Florida , a 2020 USA Swimming Gold Medal club and the #1 swim team in Florida as ranked by USA Swimming.
In our 59th year a Shark tradition of excellence is known not only on the state level, but on the national and international levels. At the age group level, we won the YMCA Florida State title for 18 straight years from 1985 through 2002; and 2006-2019 before the Sarasota YMCA closed. Sarasota Sharks have won the Florida Age Group Swimming (FLAGS) Championship title an unprecedented twenty-seven times. Sharks have produced Three (3) Olympians, the only Olympians to come out of Sarasota at any sport.
The Selby Aquatic Center is leased, managed and maintained by Sarasota Sharks Inc., has an outdoor, heated 8-lane 50m x 25yd competition pool, a 6-lane 25yd warmup pool, Kiefer, non-turbulent lane lines, KDI Paragon starting blocks, Myrtha backstroke ledges, and uses a Daktronics automatic timing system with color scoreboard.
