Channel Description
The Portmore branch of the Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) is located at Old Braeton Main Rd in Portmore, St. Catherine (Jamaica W.I.).
We believe that there is only ONE God. We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God came in flesh and dwelt among men and we beheld him as the only begotten Son - Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14).
Salvation comes through identifying with Christ's death, burial and resurrection. Acts 2:38 says "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Repent: Turning away from our sins, thus we identify with his death
Baptism in Jesus' Name: "Being buried with him in baptism, we raise to newness of life (Col 2:12)"
The Holy Ghost is Jesus' resurrection power living inside of us and evinced by speaking in tongues.
