Schoenstatt is an international Catholic lay Marian movement which strives to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the example and guidance of Mary, the Mother of God. Schoenstatt was founded on October 18, 1914 by Father Joseph Kentenich in the little Schoenstatt valley in the Rhine region of west-central Germany. The word Schoenstatt comes from the German word for "beautiful" (schon) and "place" (statt)
The Schoenstatt Shrine is a central part of the movement and provides a natural and supernatural home for all who visit. You will experience tranquility, peace and most of all Our Lady of Schoenstatt, the Mother of God. She offers the grace of a home in her Mother heart for everyone who seeks answers in the confusion and uncertainty of life. Schoenstatt is a movement of renewal with a great mission of renewal for Church and world. The movement is made up of many branches such as men, women, families, priests and sisters.
