Fred served as a U.S. Air Force civilian historian at the 62nd Airlift Wing, McChord AFB, and the Air Force Test Center, Edwards AFB. Fred received Air Force history excellence awards, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics History Manuscript Award for his book on the X-29, published by NASA. Author of more than 25 historical aviation books, Fred has made historical and news videos for more than 20 years.
