We are the Funks!
We were American expats living in Izmir, Turkey for over 6 years. Currently we are living in the USA to finish some citizenship paperwork for our daughter. After that? Who knows! Stay tuned.
First having met in Istanbul, Turkey as just two single expats a decade ago, we eventually fell in love and got married. Our hearts desire something other than the typical ‘American Dream.’ After some planning and saving, we made the move back to Turkey in 2016, this time to Izmir.
In the fall of 2018, Jason and I announced our plans to adopt... we also announced our move BACK to the states, then our canceled move, and our SURPRISE private adoption. It's a long story... check out our adoption playlist.
For now, we are just learning to navigate expat life, Turkish language and culture, and being new parents while exploring Turkey!
