Founded in San Diego CA in 1949 by US Marine Sergeant Major Al Holtmann as the Southern California School of Judo & Ju Jitsu, we’re the longest running Martial Arts school in North America. In 2006, we updated our name to THE ARENA in honor of the modern day gladiators we train. We’ve taught over 100,000 students in-person and millions online, producing champions in sports and in life.
