Channel Description
I am a Uruguayan luthier and son of one of my country’s most renowned guitar makers, Manuel Ameijenda. I learned how to build guitars at the same age I learned how to ride a bike!
I studied Musicology at Uruguay's University School of Music focusing my investigation on the History of Guitar making. I ve given lectures on this subject at schools and venues in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and USA.
Since opening my own studio in 1997, I’ve had the honor of seeing the guitars that I build being sold all around the world. My guitars are being played by some of the most renowned guitar players in the world. In this YouTube channel I showcase those players and I tell a few stories about my studio and how I build my guitars.
My studio is a peaceful piece of heaven in Cerro de los Burros, close to Piriapolis, Uruguay. Come visit me if you are in the neighborhood!
