Microbiology at the University of Galway (previously "NUI Galway"), Ireland has a history of more than 50 years of teaching and research excellence, spanning infectious diseases, environmental microbiology and marine microbiology.
We have produced this library of short videos that describe core practical techniques used in microbiology teaching and research. The videos detail many of the methods in daily use in our teaching programmes and our research laboratories. They range from traditional bacterial culturing and staining approaches to more advanced molecular analytical techniques.
