Relevanzia

Relevanzia, a modern Norteño band with a twist, was formed in 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia, by singer Jorge Casillas and accordionist/second voice Cesar Rodriguez. The band’s creation was almost accidental—Jorge, the original leader, was injured while playing soccer, leading to Cesar stepping in temporarily. Impressed by Cesar’s accordion skills, Jorge made a pivotal decision: he switched to playing bajo quinto, and Cesar became the band’s full-time accordionist.

With roots in Jalisco, Mexico, and raised in the U.S., Jorge and Cesar have crafted a unique sound that blends traditional Norteño with modern influences. Their musical inspiration comes from legends like Intocable and Ramón Ayala, as well as contemporary stars like Bruno Mars, Peso Pluma, and Grupo Frontera. This fusion of styles gives Relevanzia a fresh, yet authentic, appeal in both the American and Mexican music scenes.
